Noritz Tankless Water Heaters

Noritz is industry leader in creating innovated new products. In fact they introduced the first tankless water heater in 1966. In 1981 they had the first modern electronically controlled tankless.

They have 3 product lines: eco TOUGH, pro TOUGH, Value Solutions.

The eco TOUGH line is their most efficient tankless heater that they offer. This line uses a dual heat exchanger. There is a stainless steel exchanger which captures the heat from the exhaust.  The stainless steel exchanger is used to preheat the water prior to hitting the copper exchanger where the water is brought up to the desired end temperature level. This process increases the .093 energy factor.

Noritz has incorporated a safety lockout to keep unauthorized (think small kids) people from changing the water temperature. They also have direct ignition ,which means not standing pilot light, saving on natural gas. A Noritz exclusive is a dual flame burner. This helps minimize temperature fluctuations. These units can be installed both indoors and outdoors.

The pro Tough line is a line engineered to last a long time. The PC board is resin coated to increase durability and protection from the elements. The heat exchanger is 25% thicker giving it the strength of a commercial grade. Like the eco TOUGH line it is fully modulating with a direct ignition, so again no standing pilot. Also, integrated into this system is thermal fuse for automatic overheat protection. Noritz offers a 12 year exchanger, 5 year parts, and 1 year labor warranty.

While the Value Solutions line is Noritz’s lower level line it still incorporates many great features. This line is designed for warm climates or homes with a smaller hot water demand. The safety lock out, direct ignition and a fully modulating burner are some of the highlights of this line. These units can be installed both indoors and outdoors and are available in gas and liquid propane. The energy factor for these units is between 0.82 and 0.83. The standard warranty is 12 year exchanger, 5 year parts, and 1 year labor.
